27 July 2019- Food and wine tasting in collaboration with Podere Fortuna
The 27 of July, 2019, there was an incredible night for tasting our food speciality and taste the wines of Podere Fortuna, a local property with vineyard, that produce mainly Pinot Noir, a typical variety of grapes in Mugello. We take care of our guests, for the dinner we selected the best quality products; for first the entre. Our Chef Claudio Fiorenzano offers battered cod, chips and parsley cream with the wine “Greto alla Macchia”, 2015. For the appetizer we selected Scottona chopped meat, pine nuts, pecorino cheese and fried egg combined with “Coldaia” 2015. For first course, inspired by our territories, there was the “intrigo mugellano” with squid ink, a type of italian pasta, with crunchy sausage, hazelnut and truffle matched with “Fortuni” 2014. The main meal was “bocconcino” pork meat cooked at low temperature with reduction of “Assieve” wine, onion and almonds served with ” 1465″ of the year 2012. For dessert we served our “cantuccini” a type of cookies habitually served with Vin Santo, a fortified wine. A special thanks to attendees for first, and the sommelier Silvia Bacci to explain us the incredible essencies of their wine and endorsed at the event.
4 Giugno 2019 - Eductor Esperienza Mugello
Il 4 Giugno 2019, presso il Palazzo dei Vicari di Scarperia, si è tenuto un importante incontro tra alcune strutture ricettive del Mugello e 18 Tour Operators provenienti da tutto il mondo, i quali hanno trascorso 2 giorni tra i nostri borghi alla scoperta di esperienze enogastronomiche, itinerari bike e trekking e del nostro Sistema Museale.
Il progetto “EDUCTOR ESPERIENZA MUGELLO”, così intitolato, è stato organizzato e promosso da Confesercenti Firenze, Unione Comuni del Mugello, Borsa delle 100 Città d’Arte e realizzato grazie all’impegno e alla dedizione di Fabrizio Guerrini, nome conosciuto ed apprezzato per l’organizzazione di eventi nella zona e per l’amore che sta dimostrando per la sua terra, che vorrebbe portare alla massima valorizzazione.
Durante l’incontro sono state numerose le presenze di rilievo, tra cui il Sindaco di Scarperia Federico Ignesti, Confesercenti Toscana e Confesercenti Coordinamento Mugello.
La Locanda, così come le altre strutture presenti, ha avuto la possibilità di farsi conoscere e presentare la propria offerta a Operatori provenienti da Australia, Brasile, Canada, Danimarca, Francia, Giappone, Germania, India, Irlanda, Norvegia, Regno Unito, Sud Africa e Svezia. Un’ottima opportunità, questa, di diffondere il “Prodotto Mugello” oltre tutti i confini, a livello internazionale.
Durante l’incontro è stato inoltre presentato l’itinerario trekking che collega ad anello Ravenna a Firenze, il già conosciuto ma rinnovato “Cammino di Dante“, rappresentato da un nuovo e inconfondibile logo. Con i suoi 370/380 km da attraversare a piedi o in mountain bike il sentiero sarà percorribile da maggio a settembre e, vista l’affluenza di camminatori che da qualche anno sta aumentando grazie alla Via degli Dei, non è difficile fare un pronostico del successo di questa proposta tutta da scoprire…

Brunch and horseback riding for Temera
The Locanda, together with other tourist accommodation in the Mugello area, has been part of the event managed by Temera, company leader of RFID Solutions for Fashion&luxury goods, to make their guests live unique and unforgettable experiences.
For a whole morning the Locanda hosted due groups that could taste a genuine brunch made of cakes, pastries, local ham and cheese, homemade bread and jams. They could have a delicious break in the open lodge enjoying the sun and a nice coffee before starting with their ride.
By horse, they got to Vallappero, the hill behind the building and wonderful panoramic terrace from where they could admire the whole valley. Then, they continued their circular excursion back to the Locanda.
We wish to thank Temera for the opportunity and Alessia, from the travel agency “DemidoffViaggi” because it’s thanks to her if the Mugello area is finally starting to be valorized and promoted for tourist purposes.

17th May 2019 - La Disfida del Tortello!
On 17th May, we took part in a event that had place inside the Palazzo dei Vicari ( Scarperia ), in collaboration with the Florentine Chef Association…the “Disfida del Tortello”!
9 chefs have been chosen for the competition to be the partecipants of the Tortello’s champion election. The jury had to take into account the cooking of the tortello, time, workbench cleaning and plating.
Our Chef Claudio Fiorenzano and Sous Chef Alberto Lamberini, have been super!
They made a careful research on potatoes stuffed tortello’s origins and on ingredients provenience, linked to the historical period, with a bit of customization but keeping the tradition. So they’ve chosen to use ground by stone integral flours, like in the ancient times.The stuffing, delicated but savory, has been made with potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, some nutmeg and thyme, with a parmisan cream at the bottom…to licking their chops!
Compliments to the winner of the competition and to all the partecipants, the event has been a good opportunity for all of us and to enhance the Mugello area.
About the Locanda, our tortelli will be part of the menu at our Restaurant, ready to be tasted by our favourite jury…YOU!
