The Knife Museum is housed inside the 14thcentury Palazzo dei Vicari, for five centuries the administrative seat of the Florentine Republic’s outlying districts. The museum trail consists of the furnished and frescoed apartments of the Vicario building, and the museum’s permanent collection of blades tracing the local history of traditional knife craft in Scarperia.

The first rooms in the museum, on the ground floor, are devoted to Giotto: visitors can enjoy both a video on the artist and interactive multi-media stations where they can make up their own personalised discovery trail. The upper floor is a workshop with two rooms for exhibitions and a “colour room”.
